Downtown Alley

I have been wanting to paint some of the buildings in downtown Coffeyville, Kansas for some time now.  It is where the Dalton gang met their demise, where my husband was born and grew up, and where some of his relatives still live.  It is a small town and got even smaller when part of it flooded back in 2007.  Although some were rebuilt, many buildings, private homes included, were marked for demolition shortly after the flood.  Today only driveways remain, leading to grassy areas where structures once stood.  Thankfully, the downtown area is still there, although many of the businesses have been long gone.  The back of the buildings have always intrigued me and are the subject of this painting.  Please drop me a line and tell me what you think.
